Anorexia isn’t something you normally see the male gender diagnosed with. James must have been ‘special’ though, because he had been on and off of it for quite awhile now. He tried his hardest to seem, alright with himself, and the only way to do this was pretty much faking a ‘happy, polite’ attitude around the people he really, truly cared about. In a way this was hurting them though, by lying, which he only hated himself more for. Oh, and not to mention all the lovely things that came with the Anorexic package: low blood pressure, loss of breath, everything.
James suddenly felt like he was going to pass out, therefore he decided to maybe get some water. He got a cup, then as he was filling it with sink water, he felt as though his breath was shortening with every breath. He didn’t realize it, obviously, but he fainted and dropped the glass in the sink when he did.
----BLAH BLAH BLLAH, ---
Ben didn’t even know what exactly happened, but he got a call from his dad from the hospital. James was okay, he was just really out of it, and the doctors were thinking that he was on the Anorexic track all over again. He and his dad talked for a bit, but he hung up and lounged himself on the couch. He was pretty worried about his little brother right now, a feeling he felt for limited people. He also didn’t doubt that he was anorexic, the kid might even weigh less than 130, judged by looks. He shook his head and texted his giirlfriend, also one of James’ closest friends, Anna Murphy. Hey babe, I’m kinda worried about James. He’s in the hospital, they think hes anorexic … again D:
----in the hospital----- James was in room 101 on the second floor, staring at the ceiling and then at the tray of food in front of him. His dad bought him McDonalds, probably the most fattening foods from there too. A big mac, a cheeseburger, fries and a coke. He hadn’t touched them since when he had been pretending to eat in front of his dad.
He wanted to cry- but that wouldn't be really manly of him, would it? It wasn't manly to be anorexic either, though, so what did it even matter? He was starting to sound emo in his thoughts, which pissed him off even further. He took a deep breath, wiping every tear away that came out of his eyes. Whether they were frustrated, angry, or sad was over his head right now. He really hoped no one would find out, the last thing he wanted was 1000000 lectures and pity from 8 different friends.
What did he look like right now? He had a bandage-gauze thing like wrapped around his head, was in normal clothes, and his hair was just everywhere. To sum it all up? Shit.

Getting that text from Anna scared her half to death. Just before in the day, James, Benny and Anna has all been in the schools chat. The two brothers had scared her shitless. Benny had over exaggerated the situation. They had 'mysteriously' broken a vase, and Anna eventually found out that, surprise of all surprises, Benny had pushed James into the vase. Benny then went on to worry her, saying that James had glass in his back, the glass had cut him. He had said the cuts were formed in a X formation, and the cut was as long as his hand. Anna, being her, was freaking out, just about ready to jump down Benny's throat about it. Turns out, it was just a few small scrapes that came from James' contact with the cement.
But now. Not this was serious, Anna could tell. Benny wouldn't tell her that James was in the hospital as a joke, or at all kidding. Especially not about James' anorexia. If he was kidding, she'd find that out when she got to the hospital, because as soon as she read the text, she was out in her car and speeding down the road to see whats up. Her motherly, caring side was roaring its head, and it wasn't going to be going away, Anna was sure of that. In her hast to get out to her car, she hadn't replied to the text.... Oh well, sh could text him when she got to the hospital, if he wasn't there.
Pulling into the Emergency Room lot, Anna parked and shut the car off, tugging the keys out of the ignition. Within seconds, she was out of the car and making her way into the building, beelining straight to the nurses station straight ahead. When she reached the station, Anna grabbed the attention of someone quickly, not really caring if she was being rude. She just wanted to see James for herself. She was worried sick. "Where's James' room?" Anna asked, not even really thinking straight. "Could you please calm down, miss? Which James are you speaking of?" The nurse responded in a chipper voice. "James Rune, you idiot. Who else? James Smith!?" Anna didn't really care that she was sort of being a bitch, or being unreasonable. Instead of fighting her over it, the nurse just checked her charts and told Anna that James was in room 101, so Anna made her way up to the second floor, and found herself in his room in just moments.
Anna propped open the door, and walked in. James was in the bed, of course, and he was in standard clothes. He had gauze wrapped around his head, and he looked troubled. Walking over to him, Anna smiled at him softly, happy to see the boy was okay, considering. Well, at least he appeared to be. "Scooch over, sweetie," she said softly, laying down next to him. She turned onto her side, and didn't really care if she wasn't allowed to be in the little bed with him.

James found it hysterical that his dad really got the most fattening food, when he himself was about to recover from ANOREXIA. He rolled his eyes, setting the tray of food on the table beside him, forcing some food down his throat. After the third fry he stopped eating, he would eat it later… right now, he was thinking things through, considering what his old therapist told him. He could possibly die from anorexia if it continues on much longer, and he didn’t want that. No- he didn’t give a flying eff about him dying, but he did care about what the people around him might have to go through if he did die. Sure, not a lot of people, but enough that it was a big deal.
So, he needed to snap out of this no-eating shit. He was going to need some help though, not by a guy though. He knew that most dudes didn’t really care about what they ate, much less about their figure, mainly just the beef on their arms. He rolled his eyes at the thought, soon not thinking about guys, more about which girls he could ask help for. It needed to be someone he really, really trusted. There was Christine, Emily, Hinkara… and Anna. Anna and Christine were the top choices, they had the most trust from him. It was just a matter of who got to him first.
Speak of the devil. Anna walked in the room, a small smile on her face. He had to give her one back, it was part of his nature, but it was one of the weakest he’d ever forced. He scooted over as she asked, as well on his side so that they were facing each other. ”Hey anna… did Ben tell you?” he asked, holding off the question of whether or not she’d help him get over this little, disease like thing. ”…everything?” he added, referring to him having anorexia.

Anna knew how serious anorexia could be. She had seen it wither away so many models down to nothing. It was a common diagnosis for a model, really. Being harassed about your body and your figure and your beauty by what felt like hundreds of thousands of people every single day. Managers, fellow models, clientele, photographers, anyone who sees the image or commercial, anyone standing by on set, anyone watching you work your magic on the runway. It was a miracle that Anna hadn't been bothered by anorexia or bulimia. Sure, she worked out every day. Sure, she tried her best to eat healthy. But she's never even considered the notion of starving herself or purging. It really did upset her that it had gotten to James, and she would do anything to help him get better.
Anna knew that he doesn't want to be pitied. So she stayed far away from that, and decided she was just going to be just normal. Or as normal as she could act. For whatever reason, this reminded her that she needed to text Benny back, so she pulled out her phone really quick. She punched in Alright, well, I'm at the hospital now, and I'll be damned if he doesn't get better. It's my new personal goal to get him better. It'll be okay, promise. <3 She figured that was reassuring, and straight to the point. Pressing 'Send' Anna focused on James again.
"Yeah, I know everything," she admitted, her voice still soft and gentle. "So, what happened? I'd rather hear your take then some silly doctors," Anna states, smiling softly. She had a feeling that he would take it just as she meant it - the entire thing, the anorexia. Not just the fainting spell.

"So, what happened? I'd rather hear your take then some silly doctors," James knew she wasn’t just referring to him passing out in the kitchen, she meant the whole anorexic shindig. He grimaced, shrugging his shoulders around to get into a more comfortable position before even beginning explaining. He wasn’t even sure how long it had been, it was definitely an off and on deal. ”Mom died--then middle school happened. I guess, the drama and people… and what people thought of me, --- and you know how modeling is..” He told her the simplest way of putting it. The first two words of his sentences were said lowly and almost muttered, it was hard to think about, let alone say anything about. He was more effected by it than Benny, who hardly even knew their mom, having left with his dad when John and Amelia got divorced.
It wasn’t even four seconds after he finished talking that John, his father, walked into the room with a look of concern on his face. He smiled though, as fake as it seemed, it wasn’t. He was glad to see James with somebody, maybe if they knew, they could help him out or something. The smile didn’t last long when he saw how little James had eaten, if at all. He recognized Anna, trying his hardest to smile at her, ”Hey kiddo, make sure he finishes all of that for me, thanks…” John didn’t stay in there long, he turned around and walked out of the room to let the kids be alone.
James figured he didn’t trust him or something, and didn’t blame him at all either. He wouldn’t trust himself either. He reached back and took a fry, chewing on it momentarily. He swallowed and made a face, it was so good, but so bad… ”Anna? It won’t be easy--and I’ll probably be an ass about it during it, since.. It’s not easy, but, can you help me recover?”

Before Anna could even say anything, James and Benny's father walked in. With his false smile, Anna returned the sentiment. She knew this must all be hard on him - autistic son, anorexic son, dead ex-wife. Plus all the fighting that Benny and James had. At times, she really did feel bad for him. It would suck.
Watching James' reaction to talking about what had happened, Anna figured that his mothers death must have been hard on him. When herself and Benny had talked about it, just briefly, but they had at one point, she got the impression that it didn't affect him as much. Like it wasn't that big of a deal, really. Anna found it dubious - but she had let it go, telling herself it wasn't her place. But here, with James? She wasn't sure, yet.
”Hey kiddo, make sure he finishes all of that for me, thanks…” With his comment, Anna nodded firmly. "Of course," was her only reply. As James started eating, and made a face, Anna wanted to giggle, and normally would have. But the moment of hilarity was over quickly, turning into sadness. She knew it had to be hard for him, eating. As he asked her to help him out, she smiled at him sadly, somewhat proud. "Of course, it was already decided that we'd get through this. You're going to get better, and if you don't, just consider me 6 feet under already." And she wasn't really kidding. Anna was determined, and this was going to happen. James was going to get better. "Now, first, eat all of that," She said strictly, pointing to the food his father had left for him before. "And I'm not leaving until you do. Even if it takes all night long."
